Seduced by kanji

The following mentions of 'seduce' occur in the kanjidic2 entries for the basic jōyō Japanese kanji:
  • 丸, 4E38,  830, round, full (month), perfection, -ship, pills, make round, roll up, curl up, seduce, explain away
  • 慰, 6170, 1008, consolation, amusement, seduce, cheer, make sport of, comfort, console
  • 唆, 5506, 1284, tempt, seduce, instigate, promote
  • 召, 53EC, 1387, seduce, call, send for, wear, put on, ride in, buy, eat, drink, catch (cold)
  • 誘, 8A98, 1870, entice, lead, tempt, invite, ask, call for, seduce, allure
While only the last three are clearly to be tagged as "seduce", the first two seem to tell you something about the culture - especially the second !  He says he stops by to cheer her up and the gossip says otherwise.

You can find all 5 on my plain-HTML no-scripts page at kanji.aule-browser or if you get the lovely and free Hanaminzo font HanaMinA you can see them in that font here.

Because those pages are just plain HTML, you will have to search using CTRL-F in your browser.

note: the hex numbers above are the UCS or UNICODE values and the next digit is an index that is also used in the Curl applet for learning the joyo kanji set.

n.b. personally, I like the alternative order used at http://kanji.aule-browser.com/kanjidic2-joyo-hz-3.html
